C-1 “Rolling Smartphone” Electric Vehicle

Lit Motors is based out of San Francisco, and is headed up by industrial/automotive designer Daniel Kim. Kim and his team have developed a sleek vehicle called Lit C-1 – a small, single-seat electric urban vehicle. The C-1 uses electronically-controlled gyroscopes to remain upright even in the case of an accident. This gyroscopically stabilized electric urban vehicle combines the efficiency and small size of a motorcycle with the safety and durability of a car. It can be charged up in six hours, has a top speed of 120mph, and the battery provides enough autonomy for 150 to 220 miles. It will be available in 2014 and will sell for $12,000 to $16,000.

Designer: Jaka PlešecThere are times when rescue workers and policemen have to work in darkness or low-light conditions. To make themselves visible and even to the extent of working as a human traffic signal, we have here the Tex-vest concept. The jersey is equipped with LEDs in green, red and yellow, depicting the traffic signal colors. Using specific hand movements the arrows and colors can be manipulated. I like the fact that it is interactive, viable and can help police officers regulate traffic.

Tex-vest is a joint research project between the Berlin Weißensee School of Art (KHB) and the Textile Research Institute Thuringia-Vogtland e.V. (TITV)

baby boy for Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra!

Mumbai: It’s time for Shilpa Shetty and hubby Raj Kundra to learn the art of changing nappies as their bundle of joy arrived early Monday morning.

The Bollywood actress delivered a healthy baby boy in a hospital in Khar, Mumbai.

Talking to a leading daily, a source close to the Kundra family said, “The baby and mother are doing fine. Shilpa`s husband Raj Kundra was by Shilpa`s side from the beginning till the time she was admitted till her delivery at the break of dawn. It was only after he saw the baby that he finally left home to go and rest. Raj and his family and Shilpa`s entire family, including mother Sunanda and sister Shamita, were present. Dr. Kiran Coelho delivered the baby at a healthcare hospital in Khar. Though Shilpa was due any day, on Sunday she had gone for a normal check up but the doctors admitted her immediately as the contractions had begun.”

Shilpa married Raj, a London based business tycoon three years back and are celebrating their first born with the greatest joy.
